'the wizard of oz' is a film from 1939 about a girl called dorothy, who lives on a farm in kansas. a cyclone arrives, and picks her, her house, and her dog up and deposits them in the magical land of oz.

things in oz are strange and beautiful, but dorothy just wants to get back home.
the good witch of the north tells her that the only way to get back to kansas is to ask the mysterious wizard of oz and advises her never to take off the magical ruby slippers and to 'follow the yellow brick road'

during her journey, she encounters a scarecrow, a tin man, and a cowardly lion, who join her, hoping to find what they lack themselves (a brain, a heart and courage, respectively).at the end of dorothy's adventure, the good witch of the north instructions her to 'close your eyes tight, tap your heels together and repeat the words, 'there's no place like home' she awakens in her bedroom in kansas surrounded by family and friends and tells them of her journey, she, hugs toto and says, 'there's no place like home'

cat has 'the' magical ruby slippers and is asking 12 people in 12 countries to wear them, close their eyes tight and tap their heels together and repeat the words 'i wish to be...'

she has already asked people to wear the magical slippers and to make their wish, in shanghai, outer mongolia, rovinja, st. petersberg, umbria and london

this project has been on-going for nearly 2 years, she still has another 6 countries to take the slipper's too, before concluding this body of work in an exhibition and perhaps as a book.

'i hope the good witch of the north 'hears' their wish's and helps them come true'
