CAT VINTON PHOTOGRAPHS
WAYS OF LIFE!

Her work is structured around journeys, life and movement; her projects address themes of freedom, space, spirit and adventure, across many locations, cultures and people around the world.

She is driven by an innate curiosity and sense of wonder about the world and everyone in it. She has an ability to cross boundaries of language and culture to capture stories, ways of life, human existence, in all its diversity.

Cat is in search of the World’s remaining nomadic souls, remote communities of free-spirited people. She is visually documenting a disappearing way of life before it has been totally absorbed by 'modern society'. A life project!

She has spent time living and documenting ways of life across the world, from the snow, to the desert, to the ocean, to the mountains; in some of the most isolated and challenging locations in the world.

On every journey her word is ‘yes’, to any experience, any encounter, anything new.

Her work and life are bound together by a love of people, a passion for storytelling, an ethnographic methodology and an active commitment to making a difference in our world.

Wade Davis, a huge inspiration, coined the term ‘ethnosphere’ to describe his unique vision: the sum total of all thoughts, dreams, ideas, beliefs, myths, intuitions and inspirations, brought into being by the human imagination since the dawn of consciousness. It’s a symbol of all that we’ve accomplished and all that we can accomplish.”

“The ethnosphere is humanity’s great legacy.”

Cat’s images share the stories of the ethnosphere, to tell the drama of who we are.
